Who we are

MASO was founded in 1984 with a vision of promoting opportunities for Latinos in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office through professionalism, equality, and advancement. What began as a small group has grown into a respected organization with strong ties to the Sheriff’s Office and county officials. One of our earliest achievements was securing bilingual pay for all eligible personnel in the Sheriff’s Office and Constable’s Offices, ensuring equal recognition with other law enforcement agencies. We are proud of our history and accomplishments, and we look forward to the future. As times change, our goal is to welcome new members who share our passion and commitment. We know there is still much to achieve, and we invite you to join us. One day, you may even serve on our Board, carrying forward the vision of our founding officers and keeping MASO strong for generations to come.
